Diploma
Programme
(Grades 11–12)

Preparing students for university and the world beyond it.

The IB Diploma Programme (DP) at Naavu is designed for students aged 16 to 19 and represents the final stage of the IB learning journey.

At this stage, students engage with subjects in greater depth while developing the independence, research skills, and critical thinking required for university and beyond.

The programme challenges students to think analytically, explore ideas across disciplines, and apply their learning to real-world questions.

What Learning
Looks Like

In the Diploma Years, students explore complex questions that require research, analysis, and thoughtful discussion.

How do scientific discoveries shape society?

What makes a scientific experiment reliable?

How do economic systems influence inequality?

What responsibilities do we have toward the environment?

A week might include:

Analysing texts, data, and real-world case studies

Conducting experiments and research investigations

Writing structured arguments and essays

Presenting ideas through discussions and presentations

The IB Diploma Programme Framework

The IB Diploma Programme includes six subject groups, allowing students to study a balanced range of disciplines while specialising in areas of interest.

Students choose subjects across areas such as:

Language and literature

Language acquisition

Individuals and societies

Sciences

The Arts

Mathematics

In addition to these subjects, the
programme includes three core elements:

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

Students explore how knowledge is created and how we evaluate what we know.

Extended Essay (EE)

Students explore how knowledge is created and how we evaluate what we know.

Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)

Experiences that encourage students to engage in creative pursuits, physical activity, and community service.

Together, these components develop intellectual curiosity, independence, and global awareness.
